Fairport has been serving clients for over half a century, dating back to 1963 when our predecessor firm Roulston & Co. was founded by Thomas H. Roulston. Fairport Asset Management was formed in 2001 from the merger of Roulston & Co. and The Hickory Group, which was founded by Paul Abbey in 1988.
Fairport takes its name and logo from the historic Fairport Harbor Lighthouse, located on Lake Erie at the Grand River, just east of our office in Cleveland, Ohio. Originally built in 1825, the Fairport Harbor Lighthouse guided ships safely in and out of the harbor for 100 years.
The lighthouse signifies guidance, security, a port in the storm, while the lighthouse keeper exhibits discipline and diligence while he cautiously watches the horizon for ships in distress. Lighthouses, specifically of the Great Lakes, contributed much to the region’s prosperity and bountiful history of agriculture, fur, ore and lumber trades.
Our team rallies around these values. They drive us to exceed clients’ expectations, hold one another accountable, make wise business decisions and thrive as an organization.
