Fairport Announces 2017 Community Beacon Recipient

Fairport is pleased to announce the Cleveland Museum of Natural History as our 7th annual Community Beacon recipient. Desiring to unify our efforts as a firm to provide meaningful support to the Northeast Ohio community, Fairport selects one charitable organization per year that reflects our firm’s values. This year, we join our clients and friends who are active supporters of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History as trustees, donors and staff.

The mission of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History is to inspire, through science and education, a passion for nature, the protection of natural diversity, the fostering of health and leadership to a sustainable future. The new Perkins Wildlife Center that opened last September has been called the “best two acres in Cleveland” and is part of a larger Centennial Campaign, a bold transformation of the museum’s galleries and research spaces to celebrate its 100th year in 2020.

A cornerstone of the Museum’s mission is science education. Their educators offer fun and engaging programs onsite, through outreach into schools and the community and interactive video conferencing around the globe. Across all of their education programs, last year the Museum helped over 300,000 students and visitors get better acquainted with the world around us.

Fairport looks forward to raising awareness and goodwill by sponsoring unique activities where our guests can interact with the Museum’s talented researchers and curators. Our employees will engage with the Museum at an orientation, a family picnic and through volunteer opportunities.

We are thrilled to help the Museum inspire the next generation of scientists and citizens! Click on the dinosaur below to check out what’s happening at the Museum and to learn how you can participate in the centennial transformation.
