Fairport Announces 2013 Community Beacon Recipient

News - Beacon - 2013-05Fairport is pleased to announce that the Jewish Federation of Cleveland is our 2013 Community Beacon recipient. Desiring to unify our efforts as a firm to provide meaningful support to the Northeast Ohio community, Fairport selects one charitable organization per year that reflects our firm’s values. We are proud to join many of our clients and friends who are actively engaged with the Federation in support of their good work.

Founded in 1903, the Jewish Federation of Cleveland transforms Jewish values into tangible deeds. Through their community-wide network of partners and agencies, the Federation seeks out and supports innovative solutions to feed, clothe, comfort and rescue people in need and inspire, educate and connect people to their Jewish identity. At this time, Fairport is engaging with the Federation on two important initiatives.

We are partnering with the Women’s Philanthropy Initiative (WPI) as gold sponsor of the annual spring luncheon. The WPI seeks to engage an increasing number of women leaders, donors and volunteers. The luncheon on May 29th will feature keynote speaker Dee Dee Myers. Myers is the first woman to serve as White House Press Secretary and New York Times bestselling author of Why Women Should Rule the World. We are also working with the Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN) to set up several volunteer activities for Fairport employees. The volunteer opportunities selected by the JVN are based on the values of chesed (kindness), tzedek (righteousness and justice) and tikkun olam (making the world a better place).

We look forward to continued opportunities to connect with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland throughout 2013. Learn more about the Federation, ways to get involved and other upcoming events.
